Gun Violence

I heard about this gun violence thing and I thought I have to check this out, so I went to a gun store and they wouldn't sell me one. They said I had to have something from the police, well I didn't want to, but then I heard about these gun shows, so I went to one, nobody there would sell me one there either, said the same thing, I had to have a conceal carry permit or a permit to buy, I couldn't believe it. It's as if the news shows and all these politicians have no idea what's going on. They couldn't be lying could they, or are they just clue less? They claimed guns are easy to get. So anyhow I took the class and finally got my conceal carry permit, I went through the background check from the police, and another background check when I bought a gun. Then I put it on the counter and watched it, nothing, it just sat there. I left it there for a week, nothing, I thought maybe it needs more people, so I invited some friends over, still nothing. Some people picked it up and looked at it, but nothing happened. My faith in the news media has been severely shaken.

Obviously this is fiction to make a point, the point is a gun is an inanimate object which any thinking person already knows. It's a tool that can be used for self defense or for harm. The real problem is the people that pick up the gun. Some people don't believe people can do anything wrong so the gun has to be the problem. The phrase gun violence is only used by people that can't think.

The regressives say we have to close the loopholes. I've bought a few guns at gun shows and every time they've done a back ground check. So when the latest criminal shoots someone and all the regressives come out of the wood work and want more laws passed, I just shake my head. The honest ones admit the laws wouldn't have prevented the latest tragedy. In fact according to the FBI more people are killed by knives then rifles, all rifles, this include assault rifles, shotguns and any rifle, so next time you hear about how something has to be done about assault rifles you know the person spouting is ignorant.

But they feel they gotta do something. The laws are trying to control people who won't follow laws. There already are laws against murder. So yeah, lets put more binders on the law abiding citizens who don't need laws if it makes the idiots feel better about themselves. But wait, why should we hamstring ourselves because they want to divorce themselves from logic?

So if the gun doesn't cause the violence what does? What makes a violent person? What makes a person pull the trigger? Why do these things seem to be on the rise? Someone said "if we tell people they are animals we can't be surprised when they act like an animal". Our public schools and media have been telling us for decades we are descended from slime. Now that the roosters have come home to roost they don't like the result. If a person believes that after death there is oblivion why not do whatever comes to mind? As Christianity is denounced and other beliefs such as Islam, which is praised, Islam which rewards death, we can expect more death. We have sowed the wind and we are reaping the whirlwind.

Think about this, think about the last mass killing by a Christian… … … … … ok got one in mind? You will have to stretch, how about the guy that killed the abortion doctor, not a mass murder, but he's the only one I can think of. Ok how did the Christian community act? He was universally condemned. Why? Because his actions were diametrically opposed to anything within the teachings of Christ. Remember Him? That's where the name Christian comes from. Now pick one of the many killings committed by Muslims. How did the Muslim community react? After 911 there were widespread celebrations. After many of the other killings there have been celebrations, very few if any, condemnations. Why? Good question.

Ideas have consequences. As we throw away the Ten Commandments and replace it with relativism we can't complain when anything goes. Christianity teaches we were originally created in God's image and will live forever. Public school indoctrinates students that their predecessors were rocks, and their future is dust. Which worldview provides the best outlook for society? Someone with a Biblical worldview is less likely to commit these kinds of acts. Atheism is responsible for millions of deaths, more than religion. Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, all atheists, and Hitler was a disciple of Darwin. When the allies went into Berlin in WW2 the actions of the Russians compared to the US troops was markedly different. If a person believes after death there is judgment they will think twice before they act. As Christianity is replaced with other beliefs such as Islam, which rewards death, death to others and one's own death, we can expect more violence.

So let's at least be honest and whenever someone says gun violence sternly correct them and say "you mean violent people, the problem is violent people, not the gun". Explain you don't want them to sound like an idiot.
